About Grounded

Grounded was founded out of personal experiences—those of our founder and her friends, who encountered significant challenges when seeking therapy. Growing up as an Asian woman in a predominantly white community, our founder understood the importance of connecting with therapists who grasp cultural nuances. This insight revealed a much larger issue: the gap in mental health services for immigrants, with no access to Medicare and the Mental Health Care Plan, making therapy largely inaccessible.

This is why we are committed to tailoring our services to meet the unique needs of each person we serve. Our mission is to dismantle the barriers of high costs and long waiting times in Australia's mental health landscape. We provide an accessible pathway to culturally nuanced therapy, particularly for immigrants who frequently find themselves excluded from traditional mental health support systems.

Grounded bridges the gap by offering affordable mental health care that connects clients with therapists from their home countries—professionals who speak their language and understand their cultural context. Working specifically with licensed psychologists who have minimum 5 years extensive experience working with clients living abroad. Our services are designed for maximum accessibility, available online, including after-hours, and from any location that suits our clients. We aim to create the most intuitive and seamless online therapy experience, constantly refining our platform based on client feedback.

Though we began with a focus on the South Asian community, our awareness of mental health needs across all immigrant communities will drive our growth. As we expand, our vision is to become a trusted global mental health care provider, offering affordable, reliable care to everyone, regardless of their background. If you're looking for a therapist who truly understands your cultural background and experiences, Grounded is here to support you.
